Review | The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman

#QOTD – Have you ever dreamt of owning a bookstore?

When I was little, and I was taken to the bookstores by my parents, I would always think how lucky the store owner was as he or she had all those books in their disposal.

And I kept thinking of how I would decorate my own bookstore, how I would build an integrated café where people can wind up with a cup of coffee and their favorite read, how I would recommend my favorite books to the buyers, and how I would steal reading time when there are not many customers!

The story begins in a neighborhood in LA, where our protagonist, Nina works in a bookstore. She faces a stubborn customer who wants to return Pride and Prejudice after hating it. Nina likes books, her day planner, her quiet time, her trivia team, and her cat. She’s willing to include other people in her bubble, but it usually has to be on her terms.

The only child of a single mother, Nina has her life just as she wants it: a job in a bookstore, a kick-butt trivia team, a world-class planner and a cat named Phil. When the father Nina never knew existed suddenly dies, leaving behind a whole family of brothers and sisters, Nina is horrified. She has to step outside of her comfort zone. And that is what this book is about!

I think every bookstagrammer is going to relate to this one, because at some point or the other we have all been convinced that real life could never live up to fiction! We have all planned our perfect day with a book, a cozy blanket and a hot cup of coffee!
