A vintage staircase with decorated railings and old blue colored wooden windows, Tripty’s on the first floor of the building, is an old bar cum restaurant in Kolkata. No it’s not as beautiful as it sounds, but it’s a great place to go in with friends and have some booze. In the entrance there are wires leading from the electric meters to the entire building. There is an open terrace but for some reason they are not using it (lack of business sense).
So there are two sections to the bar – Non A/C and A/C. For men, it’s about choice and comfort if you want to sit under the air conditioning. Although, for women, it’s more of a restraint. No women allowed in Non A/C. Let’s not go there because I do not get the logic behind it.
Coming to the menu, the one thing you have to try is the Cheese Pakoda. Served hot, the cheese just melts in your mouth. But if you are running low on your budget, then you can enjoy your drink with refills of sliced ginger and onion with black salt, and chanachur.
